Can I be truthful and real? I don’t want to sugar coat how serious Tech Neck really is. I feel like I am letting you and your family down if I sugar coat the truth.
So I’m going to be real and tell it how it is.
If you are reading this email from your mobile device, pull your shoulders back and sit up straight.
Researchers evaluated the amount of pressure to your neck when the neck is bent forward at varying degrees while looking down at your phone. While looking down, the amount of pressure on the neck increases dramatically.
By tilting the head forward by 15 degrees, the weight of the head increases from about 10 pounds to 27 pounds. It nearly triples the amount of pressure on your neck.
When you flex your head forward at 30 degrees, it results in a head weight increase of up to 40 pounds!
And when you flex your neck forward at 60 degrees, it results in up to 60 pounds of pressure to your neck! To put it into perspective, 60 pounds is the weight of a toddler!
Imagine grabbing a 60 pound weight from the gym and putting on your neck?! It would feel terrible right!
Not to mention it could result in harmful effects.
Many people are staring down at their smartphone right now. What they don’t realize is that their Tech Neck Posture is most likely associated with their symptoms of pain and suffering.
Common symptoms associated with Tech Neck include:
