That’s what went through my mind as I sat there fighting back the tears.

There are very few things that will put life in perspective like war will.

As a 20 year old pre-med student with my whole life ahead of me I was pulled out of University Of Missouri & sent all the way across the world, away from my friends, my family, and my life to fight in the war in Iraq.

I’ll never forget the moment my life changed forever.

BANG! Everything rattled, people were shouting, my heart was pounding, & as the dust settled and the gunfire trickled (pow pow, pow pow) to a stop I saw for the first time death up close & personal.

That night sitting in my tent, my hands shaking it all came rushing through me.

No one would even remember you! If I died today, what have I actually done with my life? Who has heard my message? I have no legacy, nothing I’ve created that would live on, and nothing that has actually made a difference in the world.

That’s when I vowed that if I survived my tour in combat that I would spend every day of my life building a legacy. A legacy for me and a legacy for others.

That business got its start with a virtual summit about a decade ago.

As the host of “Virtual Posture Summit, “Summit Scripts Summit”, founder of the Virtual Summits Software, creator of the One-Day Summit and Host of the Virtual Summit Podcast & the only physical conference for summits (Summit FEST Live) in New Orleans, I spend a LOT of time in, on, around and with Virtual Summits.

I’ve been running summits for a LONG Time and have had the benefit to see the evolution of them.

Starting back in 2005 when they went from teleseminars to the first ever TeleSUMMIT. Then around 2008-2009 they became more popular (and easier with wordpress) we saw the first every Virtual Summits popping up.

In 2016 the first One-Day Summit was created & hosted by yours truly over at the American Posture Institute.

As technology improved and simplified we began to see an influx of virtual summits (sometimes called online summits) start around 2017.

This was also when the first ever official software was created specifically for summits. It’s called the Virtual Summits Software. That made it now quicker and easier than ever to host a summit.

It makes sense. There is nothing more powerful than a Virtual Summit to get your message out to the world, build influence & authority, create strategic partnerships, and grow your audience, while creating more revenue.
