Summit Script Summary

This set of emails was written for a one-day virtual summit for Chip Leader Coaching, a poker training company. The objective of the summit was to sell their first-ever online course (their primary service was 1-on-1 coaching). The course was priced at $397 with a $100 summit discount which expired 72 hours after the summit was over. We launched the summit on a Friday and carried the promotion through until Monday evening.

The best-performing email was the first, followed by the last, as measured by open rate of approximately 30% for each. We A/B tested subject lines for each email, and the subjects listed were the winners.

You’ll notice that the copywriting in each email is in the first-person from a person named Chance. Chance is a co-founder of the company and is a relatively well-known figure in the poker industry, which made him an ideal host. We also had a marquee guest by the name of Alex Foxen, the #1 ranked player in the world at the time, who was a big draw for the summit and helped our registration numbers.
